Abstract The scope of the research is limited to the organisational development and adaptive trajectory of Eskom, from its origins to present day. It focuses specifically on understanding how the organisation became an institution, how it was deinstitutionalised and the attempts to convert the organisation back into an institution that supports the country’s developmental objectives. © 2011, University of Pretoria.
